The Te Ara a Kupe Beaton Scholarship 2021 registrations are now open. This scholarship will provide five aspiring Māori students with up to $20,000 of personalised education and mentorship. Crimson Access Opportunity Programme Registrations Open Now

Applications Close April 25

In line with our goal to democratise access to higher education for students, we have developed the Crimson Access Opportunity (CAO) Programme. The CAO program is a free service that delivers personalised application guidance from multiple experts to students who would otherwise not be able to afford our services. Students selected for the CAO Programme receive the following services from Crimson, valued at around $4,000 USD, completely free of charge:

  1. Support completing one full university application via the Common App (including school selection, activity list editing, personal statement review, and final application review), and support for creating a strategic list of schools you’ll apply to, from an expert Crimson Strategist (approx. 6-8 meetings)
  2. Support on essay brainstorming and editing for up to four applications from a Crimson Application Mentor (approx. 10-15 meetings)
  3. Access to two essay reviews per school that you intend to apply to, from the Essay Review Team (ERT)
  4. Access to financial aid webinars, resources, and three hours of 1:1 time with a financial aid consultant
  5. Access to an incredible bevy of resources, including timelines, handbooks, admissions-related livestreams, masterclasses, and more

Ararau UC | UC Possibilities

At Ararau UC | UC Possibilities students can discover more about subjects they might include in a Bachelor of Arts (BA) at UC.

Students who attend this free holiday event can attend lectures delivered by our leading experts, learn about career options, explore the campus and try something new. Free lunch will also be provided.

Students not planning to do a BA are also welcome to attend selected lectures to try something (such as psychology or philosophy) that they might want to select as an elective in another degree.

Subjects include: Art History and Theory, Chinese, Cinema Studies, Classics, Cultural Studies, Economics, Education, English, English Language, European Union Studies, Digital Humanities, French, Geography, German, History, Human Services, Japanese, Linguistics, Māori and Indigenous Studies, Media and Communication, Music, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Russian, Sociology, Spanish, Statistics, and Te Reo Māori.

Careers in Heritage 2021

This free central city event is ideal for senior students passionate about their culture/heritage and keen to share the stories and treasures of their ancestors.

A career in the heritage sector can offer many pathways to nourish students’ culture and enrich their communities.

Guest speakers from across the heritage sector will introduce attendees to the many and varied careers in arts and heritage. They’ll discuss their jobs, and talk about the skills or qualifications needed to do similar work.

Pasifika Careers Expo 2021

Event on 9 April


Hosted by ARA to provide a general overview of future careers and employment opporunities. Over 25 organisations including training/tertiary institutions will be represented on the day to profile career and scholarship information for our Pasifika students.
