From the Principal

Sandra Hastie —

It was with bated breath that I watched the Prime Ministers’ announcement on Friday 14 August regarding our country's alert levels. Although we are not at Level 1, as some were hoping, I did give a sigh of thankfulness as at Level 2 many things can continue, including of course that your daughters can attend classes. I want to reassure you that we will continue to follow all Ministry of Health and Education guidelines regarding hygiene, physical distancing and tracing. If the level situation changes, we will inform you of the school’s response via email as soon as we have information from all relevant parties. We have plans in place should we need to go back to online learning and guidelines and information will be sent immediately should this situation unfold. In the meantime, look after yourselves and if your daughter is displaying any flu like symptoms please keep her at home and contact your doctor or Healthline for advice.

As a result of our move into Level 2, we have had to postpone a number of events and are putting plans in place for others should we remain in Level 2 or higher for longer. Please refer to our events update here for more information on upcoming events.

The Rangi Ruru Covid-19 Fees Assistance Fund has now received a heart-warming $55,190 from our community. Thank you to everyone who gave, we are so grateful to be able to use these funds to underwrite tuition and boarding fees for families facing uncertainties due to the pandemic thus ensuring current students remain enrolled at Rangi. So far we have provided stability to several students, allowing them to stay with us for the foreseeable future and there are still funds available. We want to keep our Rangi family together so should your family be facing uncertainties, please do not hesitate to contact Angela Hirst in the strictest of confidence to discuss how we can help.
