Learn More about Career Opportunities in the Agriculture Sector

The Urban Farm Fest will showcase the food and fibre sector through interactive online engagement. We want to give the attendees an insight into life and career opportunities through leading employers and industry speakers in food and fibre production, secondary products and support industries.

You don’t always need to have a tertiary education to reach management levels and the food and fibre industry has provision for hands-on practical learning, underpinned with theory to give you the leg up you might need.

Who is this for?

This event is designed specifically for Young people 16 to 24 years who are looking for a career, and who are practical hands-on learners. School leavers looking for work with career pathways.

How does it work?

It’s really easy. Each person just needs to register to receive a link to get onto the webinar then all they need is wifi, a phone, tablet or a laptop.

What's on offer?

We will be showcasing sectors within the industry, from food production and farming to education:

  • Rural Contracting - machinery operators, mechanics
  • Irrigation - electrical and mechanical technicians
  • Dairy farming -dairy assistants and milk harvesters
  • Pig farming - machinery operators, stockperson, quality control, stock sales
  • Arable farming - tractor drivers, quality control, land maintenance, stockperson
  • Food production - production line operators, goods in, pack and dispatch
  • Education - transitional qualification, facilitation into career
  • Fisheries - Out on the boat, selection, distribution

There will be interactive engagement with industry leaders, question and answer sessions, breakout rooms and interactive video.
