Christchurch Information Evening – Wednesday, 30 June

Join the Victoria University of Wellington Liaison Team for an information session introducing students and their families to life and study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

The session will include information about the student experience at Victoria University of Wellington and the capital city as a study destination, study areas, degree structure, admissions and enrolment, and accommodations, scholarships and student services. The event will also include a panel of speakers with representatives from student recruitment, accommodation and a current student at the University.

Free Careers Opportunity for Senior Students Interested in STEM Fields led by GirlBoss NZ

GirlBoss New Zealand has opened applications for a FREE ten day online career accelerator called Girlboss Edge: Primary Industries Edition, happening during July school holidays (16-25 July). It is fully funded for 250 young women thanks to the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Applicants should be aged 15 - 18 and interested in one or more of the following fields:

• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths)
• Sustainability
• Innovation
• Animal Welfare
• Policy
• Protecting New Zealand’s natural resources
• International Trade
• Feeding Aotearoa and the world
• Biosecurity, Farming, Fishing, Forestry, and more!

Participants will gain mentoring, inspiration and support from high profile inspirational speakers such as Real Country CEO Laura Douglas and Marine Biologist Siobhan O'Connor. They will receive 1:1 mentoring with leaders, policy makers, farmers, climate scientists and more from across the Primary Industries. They will complete a CV-worthy challenge which could earn them work experience and prizes, and every graduate will receive a GirlBoss Goodie bag (valued at $40). It is a great opportunity for your students to join a like-minded community - 98% of our 2020 alumni made new friends on the programme.

The time commitment is approx. one hour per day across the 10 day programme, and the programme is self paced and can be completed from anywhere.

Girl Up Global Summit 2021 – Can’t Stop Won’t Stop

In coordination with The Alliance of Girls’ Schools' Australasia and Girl Up, 2021’s Global Summit “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” offers Rangi students an opportunity to hear from strong female voices making differences across the globe.

About the event
A two-day virtual Summit on 13-14 July, bringing together movers and changemakers from around the globe committed to gender equality. The time difference may make viewing some sessions challenging, but recordings will be available for students who register.

In addition, for girls who want to get a head start, from 7-12 July, Girl Up is conducting regional visits on the Leadership Summit Tour, tackling topics that are important to communities around the world. Once you've registered for Summit, you'll be invited to join the Tour.
