Rangi Voices (Years 7 to 10 choir) and Resolutions (Years 11 to 13 choir) took part in the Regional Big Sing Competition last week. This was a wonderful opportunity for the girls to perform in the beautiful acoustic of the Christchurch Town Hall, to hear choirs from other schools, and to join together with the other choirs to sing a massed item to conclude the evening Gala Concert.

Special congratulations to Resolutions and director Helen Charlton for winning three awards as a result of a superb and moving performance:

• Outstanding Performance of a Composition with a Maori or Pasifika Text - choreographed by Elisah Vili-Umaga
• Outstanding Performance of a Contemporary Art Composition (jointly with Cantrices from Christchurch Girls' High School)
• Outstanding Recital Performance by an Upper Voice Choir

We will find out at the end of June if Resolutions has been selected as one of the 24 choirs from throughout New Zealand for the National Finale, to be held in Christchurch from August 26 to 28.
