Parking Safety Reminder
Parents and students are reminded about our school parking guidelines, which are designed to keep everyone safe as they come to and from school each day.
Our guidelines are below and a helpful map is attached, but some key things to remember are:
- We have regular near misses around the school involving vehicles and students entry and exit onto school grounds, please try to park a little further away to reduce congestion and risk
- Only park in designated areas for parents which are on the roads around the school, please avoid coming on site to keep students and staff safe
- After school on Wednesday, there are a lot of taxis and our own vans organised to transport students to school sport, please try to avoid Rhodes Street to pick up your child on a Wednesday
Parent and Student Parking Guidelines
- Parent parking: Parents are always to park outside the school grounds, there is to be no entry to any school carpark, during the hours of 8.30am and 3.45pm on school days, unless previous communication with the Rangi Ruru Girls’ School office has occurred. Students are to be dropped off outside the school grounds. It is advisable to find a regular spot to pick up and drop off students that is not directly around the school. This allows for safety and ease of movement for students at the beginning and end of day. Parents are to follow road rules and not park over neighbours’ driveways.
- Student parking: Students are to park outside the school grounds, on streets that are not directly surrounding the school perimeter. Hewitts Road is not for student parking, this is for staff and visitors/parents to the school. Students are to follow road rules and not park over neighbours’ driveways under any circumstances.
- Year 13 Boarding Students: must have a permit to have a vehicle approved by the Boarding House Director. There is allocated car parking area within the Boarding House for approved Year 13 Boarding Students.
Thank you for your assistance keeping everyone safe!
