Year 13 Drama students (left to right) Pippa Anderson as Queen Elizabeth, Amelia Kauder as the Duchess and Georgia Dann as Queen Margaret are spending many hours rehearsing their five-minute student directed piece.

Amelia Kauder, who is also directing the performance, says: "In the past few years we have entered work with a comedic flavour, and I really wanted to do a piece that was highly dramatic and emotional.

"Pippa and Georgia aren’t afraid of delving into the tragedy of their characters, which made them perfect for this scene from Shakespeare’s tragedy 'Richard the Third’."

These three will perform their excerpt at the local Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival on Saturday April 1 at Middleton Grange High School.

Staff member, Kerry-Anne Murnane, is creating authentic period costumes for the festival. 

Tickets will be available at the door on the day.
