NCEA for the Uninitiated

Emma Hanson —

We welcome parents and caregivers of current Year 10 students to attend our NCEA information event, NCEA for the Uninitiated on Wednesday, 13 September from 6-7.30pm in the Merivale Lane Theatre.

The National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) is New Zealand's national school-leaver qualification. NCEA is the main secondary school qualification in New Zealand and what we offer at Rangi Ruru.

NCEA can be confusing for parents, particularly if you do not have any prior experience with the qualification. Juliet Collins, Assistant Principal Curriculum, will describe what NCEA is, how the qualification is obtained, and how it works for your daughter.

2023 is the first year of the Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite for NCEA, and there are considerable NCEA changes coming in 2024; both of these will be covered in detail.

Please note this event is for parents and caregivers of current Year 10 students (not the students themselves). Space is limited due to the size of the Merivale Lane Theatre, and registration is essential.
