Service for the Environment

Rosetta Brown and Mette van Pallandt —

Our Sustainability and Service Councils encourage you to take action through giving time to protect and restore our environment and ecosystems

Drayton Reserve needs you! Rangi is committed to being involved in restoring native plants, insects and birds to Drayton Reserve, Mt Pleasant.

On Sunday 17 March and Saturday 30th March from 2-4pm there will be working bees to plant, clear and mulch in Drayton Reserve. Please note, with the change in season there has been a time shift from morning sessions to afternoon working bees in autumn and winter. Bring family and friends along to enjoy the fresh air, stunning views and doing your bit for the environment! Hear about how locals are encouraging weta and ruru (owl) back into this valley. If you are not able to make the community working bees, but would like to help at other times to adopt and care for some native seedlings, or restore the stream, please contact Dave at www.draytonreservevolunteers.org.nz

Attached are instructions on how to get there. To bus together or share transport from Rangi, please email Mette van Pallandt vanpallandt.m@rangiruru.school.nz For Sustainability related community service, the signing of students hours is done by Ms Rivers k.rivers@rangiruru.school.nz
