Learning Progress Interviews and Reporting

Juliet Collins —

As we are operating in unusual conditions, the processes that we have in place to report on learning have been altered. The Learning Progress Interviews (LPIs) at the end of Term 1 were not able to be held and we may not be able to reschedule these when we are back on site due to the conditions of the Covid-19 level that we return to.

Parents will be contacted for an LPI if there are any concerns that teachers have regarding your daughter’s learning. These will be online and include teachers, tutor or Dean, parents. Your daughter is welcome to join. If you do not hear from us regarding this, then there are no concerns currently.

It is hoped that we will be able to schedule LPIs for Year 7 and 9, and students new to Rangi Ruru this year, when we return, and for Boarders on the final day of Term 2.

Reports are written this term and would usually be sent out during the July term break. Written subject reports will now come out earlier in Term 2, around Week 7. These will report on learning up to that point, including remote learning. They will be streamlined and focus on the essentials of learning in the individual subjects. There will be no tutor comments accompanying the subject reports. These will be written later and distributed in a timely fashion. Senior tutor comments will accompany the NCEA Current Status sheet that follows exams and precedes Term 3 Senior Learning Progress Interviews.

Endeavour Awards will still be awarded for Term 2, whether there is an Awards Assembly or not.
