Discover Achieve Research Engage (DARE) Otago

We invite you to come along to find out about careers in health sciences through University of Otago and at the Christchurch campus.

This event, a first of its kind for the campus, will provide the opportunity for students from years 11-13 to understand the journey towards working in various health professions. By listening to and interacting with health science graduates and professionals, as well as visual and hands-on examples of dynamic medical research, we hope to inspire your students to consider their options in health sciences and understand what world class research opportunities are available on their doorstep.

Areas to be covered include, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, bio-medical science research, psychological medicine and radiation therapy. We will also provide focussed attention to nursing, genetics, public health, pathology and biomedical science and Maori and Pasifika health.

Time: 1:00pm – 3.00pm - students to arrive by 12:30pm
Venue: University of Otago Christchurch Campus

As this is a pilot, numbers of students are limited from each school. Our school has been allocated six places. The first 6 people to sign up will be confirmed.
