Opportunities to lead Sustainability Action Groups

Kate Rivers —

With many sustainability initiatives on the go and in planning stages, the Sustainability Executive are looking for students from Year 7-13 to become Sustainability Sisters and to lead Action Groups.

We would like to hear from students with a passion for sustainable living and practical ideas on how we can show care for for oneself, others and the environment. We would also like to hear from staff and parents who would be interested in mentoring students or helping with community collaborations.

For an overview of some recent initiatives and current projects, please see link.

In Term Two each class will have a Sustainability Sister to encourage healthy habits and feed ideas to the Sustainability Executive. Please email k.rivers@rangiruru.school.nz if you would like to be your class Sustainability Sister.

We are also keen to hear from anyone in our community with expertise in establishing a biodigester to convert green waste to biogas.
