From the Principal

Dr Sandra K Hastie —

Yet again, the year has flown by and we find ourselves approaching the summer break, and with it, farewelling 2019. As the end of Term 4 nears, it gives me the chance to reflect on some of its recent highlights.

Congratulations to all those involved in the middle school production ‘High School Musical 2’’, a co-production between Rangi Ruru and Christ’s College. This has been a sell out season with extended shows over four evenings this week, and not surprisingly the positive feedback has been overwhelming. I send my thanks to Hannah Clarkson, Director, and her team for giving this opportunity to our students. The depth of talent from our young students is always outstanding, and very evident to see.

The weather has held off enough for us to be enjoying yet another great Show Week. With the New Zealand Agricultural Show expecting 100,000 visitors through the gates, it will once again be a busy and successful event. Our marquee provides a lovely setting to chat with current, past and future families alike, and we love seeing you there. We are located on Deans Avenue (same location as last year) if you would like to pop in, say hello and enjoy a barista-made coffee.

Clan & Family Carol Services (Sunday 1 December - St Andrew's at Rangi Ruru)

A reminder that our Clan & Family Carol Services are compulsory attendance for all girls. This is a strong tradition within the school and a chance for the students to celebrate the fellowship of their Clans with family. Full uniform is to be worn including blazers. In the unexpected event that your daughter cannot attend, please follow this link to one of our new EdSmart forms which will advise your daughter’s dean.

The evening will run as follows:
Dunvegan, Glamis, and Braemar Service will be held from 4pm to 5pm.
Doune, Stirling, and Balmoral Service will be held from 7pm to 8pm.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. – Winston Churchill
