Parking

Can we please remind parents and caregivers to be considerate of all pedestrians and other drivers when dropping off or picking students up from school. The school carparks are only to be used for staff parking.

Uniforms

Term break could be a good time for uniforms to be repaired or cleaned so that everyone starts next term off with clean, tidy and correct uniforms.

See the link below to the uniform requirements page from Rangi Life, our Information portal.

STUDENT CARE & DEVELOPMENT

Destressing over the holidays

Below are some of the messages our psychologists have been giving to all year groups this term. It would be great to encourage the girls to continue with these strategies over the holidays.

  • Visualisation – Visualising yourself relaxing and enjoying yourself goes a long way towards you actually being able to do this! Spend some time planning fun things and looking forward to them to get a jump start on starting the holidays well.
  • Plan times to do school work and stick to them – You’ll actually enjoy your holidays more if you can get the work done that you need to get done, instead of trying to ignore it and then stressing out about it for the next three weeks!
  • Relaxation – Learn some good relaxation strategies that you can use when you find yourself getting stressed. However, practise these when you are relaxed so that you are good at them for when you do need them. E.g. Deep/slow breathing, mindful exercises, muscle relaxation…
  • Exercise! – Find ways to exercise that you enjoy. You’ll be more likely to do it if you find it fun (walk on the Port Hills, swim, throwing hoops with a friend, exercycle in front of the TV…).
  • Talk to a friend or family member about a difficult situation – Often when we are stressed about a problem it can help to put it in perspective by talking to someone.
  • Get some good sleep – Try and keep a fairly consistent routine with your bedtime and sleep. Having a good wind down time before bed is useful and keeping a regular bedtime and getting up time the next morning (with the occasional sleep in) will make the transition to Term 3 easier.
