What a term it has been in the sporty world at Rangi Ruru. We are so proud of all of the achievements of our students and as we head into the term break, this is a great opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the sporting achievements of the term and Summer Tournament Week:

Athletics - SIX records at the Canterbury Secondary Schools' event, including the 4 x 400m relay, and 10 titles. The squad are looking forward to the SISS Athletics which is being held during the term break from 9 - 10 April.

Cricket 1st XI team – 2nd in the Gillette Venus Regional Qualifying Tournament.

Mountain Biking SISS Champs: Juliet Freeman - U15 1st Overall including 1st Down Hill & 1st Enduro; Ruby Hewitt - U17 Enduro 2nd.

MultiSport Canterbury Primary & Intermediate School Triathlon – 4th Year 8 girls: Blaise France; 6th Year 7 girls: Charlotte Maxwell; 9th Year 7 girls: Charlotte Gorman.

SISS Duathlon & Triathlon - Podium finishes for Charlotte Chiles, Lily Greenwood & Mya Wolfenden.

NZSS Triathlon – Charlotte Chiles 7th U14 Individual; Lily Greenwood and Charlotte combined with two Lincoln High School male athletes to finish 3rd in U16 Mixed relay.

Rowing - outstanding results at MAADI for the Rangi Squad including 8 x Gold medals, 2 x Silver medals and 1 x Bronze. The squad achieved the rare feat of winning ALL five 8 races bringing home the Top Secondary School Award, Top Sweep School and the Levin 75th Jubilee Cup for the U18 8+.

Swimming NZSS Open Water Swim – Lily Greenwood 2nd 500m race 14 - 15yrs category.

Tennis Premier Tennis Team - Winners NZ Cup; Jade Feneon, Lily Parkinson & Honor Barry.

Touch SuperTouch Tahi - SISS 4th place; Canterbury SS Champions.

Volleyball Senior A team – 10th at NZSS Div 5.

Waterpolo Senior A team - Winners SISS Championships & Canterbury SS Champions.

Equestrian - with the cancellation of Horse of the Year, it is important to acknowledge the results from our riders across a range of disciplines this term including:

SHOWJUMPING - Successes at Canterbury SS event and Molly Moffatt - Junior Rider title at NI event and the Pony Grand Prix.

POLO - Teams who competed at the SI SUPA tournaments.

NZ MOUNTED GAMES NATIONALS - Ruby Stewart – winner of the U14 National Pairs title with her partner Luci; Zara Stewart – 2nd U17B final with her partner Gemma.

Congratulations to all of our girls who contributed to a wonderful summer sport term by getting involved and giving their best. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

And the final thanks to our outstanding group of coaches and managers who help our girls be the best they can be. Rangi sport is what it is because of your passion, commitment and knowledge.
