Rangi Ruru Preschool

Linda Scanlan —

Families of the Rangi Ruru Girls’ School community have the benefit of accessing high quality, nurturing, early childhood care and education on site. The children enrolled within our Preschool, have access to physical and cultural learning opportunities offered within the school, and that sets us apart from other ECE services. The children of our centre benefit educationally and socially from the amazing campus environment, experiences with the ‘big girls’, and outstanding teaching practices.

Unlike many other early childhood services, our centre is staffed with fully registered and experienced teachers. We have a team who have been together for many years, and who feel extremely privileged to work within the Rangi Ruru School community. We structure the physical and emotional environment to support healthy interactions and relationships and provide inviting opportunities for children to actively participate and develop their learning through exploratory play. We truly believe that our small group size caters for the needs, skills and interests of every single child. This was confirmed and celebrated in our recent Education Review office review.

This year we have noticed a greater interest from our ‘big girls’, wishing to undertake their community service work within the Preschool. The enthusiasm, initiative, and respect we observe in the girls’ is of a particularly high standard and adds to the rich and deep experiences we seek to provide our children. The girls participate with the Preschoolers in their daily work and play, along with supporting the teaching team by helping with set up and representing of activities. If your daughter is interested in community service work within the Preschool, or is contemplating moving into the teaching field, they are welcome to come and spend some time with me or any member of my team.

We specialise in the care and education of boys and girls from 2 years to school entry. We offer 20 hours ECE to children aged 3 years to school entry and are open between 8.00am – 4.30pm daily. Unusually, due to transition to primary school, we can now offer places to prospective enrolments, so we are looking forward to new friends joining our wonderful community and family.

Warmest regards
