Green Tips - Practical ideas from the Sustainability Council to encourage habits and actions to reduce our impact on the planet

Rosetta Brown - Head of Sustainability —

We are encouraging students and staff to further reduce their use of single-use packaging and products to disrupt the take-make-waste model and instead create sustainable behaviours.

It is great to see so many staff and students using their own reusable cups and cutlery when purchasing take away products. An initiative in the boarding house to encourage the use of lunch boxes, rather than single use plastic packaging and wrap is also gaining momentum. If you are not doing this already, now is the time to start! Many items currently collected in the red landfill bin will still remain in thousands of years, so we must act now!
New posters to help with separating waste have begun to go up at bin stations around the school. Thank you to Year 12 Global Living - Sustainability team and designer Raewynne Hobbs. Copies of these can be found here.
