2019 Summer Reading

Isabel Milward —

All students who are returning to Rangi in 2020 will be able to borrow library books over the summer break. We would love all students to keep reading this summer so they maintain the improvements of the year’s learning at school and not allow their fluency and comprehension to slip backwards (aka ‘the summer slide’). We also think the summer break is a wonderful opportunity to read for pleasure, sit in the sun and enjoy a good book!

Please read the below conditions. We recommend borrowing three books as a good start, however, if a student issues more than five books to be taken out over summer, we will email the parent to make sure they are happy with this, as lost books will be charged for, and if not, parents can have books sent back to school before the final day of the year.

Criteria

· Students must be returning to Rangi Ruru in 2020

· Books must stay in New Zealand

· If you are going overseas, please use our E-books and E-audio collection

· Lost books will be charged for on the gold sheet

· All books must be returned in first week Term 1 2020
