From The Principal

Dr Sandra K Hastie —

We have started Term 2 with much gusto and enthusiasm with the weather turning it on for our school Cross Country on Wednesday. The sun was shining and the girls all ran so well. I hope everyone is now rested and ready for the winter term. Our team have been extremely busy planning some great community events and I do encourage everyone to join us at these.

Firstly, our Wheeler’s Luck school production is being held 15-18 May in the MLT with tickets on sale now from PatronBase. Our staff and students have spent many hours rehearsing and I would encourage everyone to purchase tickets in support of our wonderful performing arts students.

The BIGGEST event on our social calendar is happening right here at Rangi Ruru with our 130th Winter Warmer Birthday Bash to be held Friday 24th May from 7pm – 11pm. Tickets are selling out fast and we cannot wait to share our 130th birthday party with you all. Every ticket goes into the draw to WIN return flights for two to London from our friends at Singapore Airlines PLUS we have the wonderful support of Wairau wines, a Whisky Galore whisky lounge and look forward to dancing the night away with the smooth sounds of our band. We have VERY limited tickets so please get these booked now... you do not want to miss this! Tickets can be purchased here.

It was a proud moment to see Alyssa Robinson (Year 13, 2018 student) presented with her Top Subject Scholarship Award for Printmaking at Parliament on Wednesday this week. I am sure that her photo with the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern, will be a lasting memory for her. Alyssa is currently studying Fine Arts at Canterbury University.
