Dr Jane Goodall visits Rangi Ruru Girls' School

Kate Rivers - Director of Sustainability —

Last week, Rangi had the most wonderful opportunity to hear Dr Jane Goodall speak, thanks to the Jane Goodall Institute New Zealand and the University of Canterbury Community Engagement team.

Our students and youth environmental leaders were inspired, challenged and empowered to participate in implementing sustainability action projects with positive impacts for animals, people and the environment. They are thinking deeply about Dr Jane Goodall’s profound words of wisdom and are planning what they can and will do.

I would like to extend our gratitude and acknowledge the generosity of the Jane Goodall Institute New Zealand and Dr Billy Osteen from the University of Canterbury who enabled this visit. Dr Jane Goodall encouraged our students to be globally mindful and locally active.

We are excited about being part of the Jane Goodall Institute Roots and Shoots programme.
In doing this, Rangi shows care and responsibility for social and environmental good in our local community.
