Muka Prints Exhibition in Christchurch this weekend

Kate Rivers —

Muka Prints provides an opportunity to make contemporary art accessible, by compiling original lithographs by well-known artists, covering the artists names, and letting young people under nineteen select them.

The annual exhibition of Muka Studio original lithographs by NZ and international artists especially for kids, is back!

The idea behind Muka Prints is to make contemporary art accessible by compiling original lithographs from international artists, covering the artists names, and letting young people under nineteen connect with works that speak to them.

More than 60,000 Muka Youth Prints have found their way to young people in New Zealand.

The prints are offered exclusively to those aged 5 to 18 years, who will have an opportunity to buy up to three works. No adults are allowed into the exhibition and artist names are covered.

Unframed works $75, framed $155

The show is at Te Puna o Waiwhetū Christchurch Art Gallery from Friday November 15- Sunday November 17 10am-5pm or at Ashburton Art Gallery on Monday 18 November 1-6pm. Muka Prints website has more information www.muka.co.nz
