Updates from the Music Department
Itinerant Music / Speech and Drama Lessons 2024
A reminder to parents that lessons in a wide range of instruments, voice, and speech and drama lessons are available to all students who attend Rangi. These can be commenced at any time during the school year, with the start of a new term often a good time to do so.
These lessons (ITM lessons) are held during the school day and are charged to the parent/caregiver account (Gold Sheet) at the end of each term. Lessons are mostly individual, although there are small group lessons available in speech and drama. Further information can be found in the Rangi Hub here.
For 2024 lessons are charged at $78.00 per hour. Those tutors who are registered for GST will have a GST component included as well.
If your daughter wishes to commence music, and/or speech and drama lessons at the start of next term registration is available HERE.
Tutors will be in touch with students/parents who register for lessons to arrange a lesson start date and time.
If parents/caregivers require any further information regarding ITM lessons, please contact Janet Kingsbury at j.kingsbury@rangiruru.school.nz

The NZSSSO offers a valuable opportunity for some of New Zealand’s top secondary school orchestral musicians to represent their school, and receive the experience playing full scale works in a symphony orchestra. It is widely regarded as a significant training ground for young players aspiring to membership of the NZSO National Youth Orchestra and beyond.
These talented Rangi Ruru musicians will join around 100 secondary school aged orchestral players from all over New Zealand for a week of rehearsals and performances in Christchurch during the first week of the upcoming April term break.
