Helping in our Rangi Ruru Eco-Action Nursery

Rosa Davies —

We invite all students to get involved in our native nursery. Join the Sustainability Council, along with Year 12 Global Living classes to pot up 2000 native plants this term.

With the delivery of 2000 native seedlings just prior to lockdown, as part of our Eco-Action Satellite Nursery, we are keen to get these potted up, and need lots of helpers!

The driving force, Emma Ffowcs Williams (Year 12) organises Rangi planting helpers on Tuesdays and Fridays at Christ's College after school, and we now also have Monday and Wednesday after school sessions at Rangi, open to all students who don't mind a little bit of dirt! Please meet by the garden shed at the end of the field.

Our helpers have said that it is a really enjoyable and satisfying way to undertake community service hours. Volunteering in our Eco-Action Satellite Nursery really is a great way to obtain service hours in the convenience of our school grounds.
