Claire has always had a passion for science, and this only grew during her school career at Rangi Ruru. Given her fervour, it was no surprise when Claire decided to apply to both University College London and Imperial College London - the two highest ranked universities in London, ranked #8 & #9 in the world consecutively (QS World Rankings 2020). Claire was accepted into both, and ultimately has chosen to attend Imperial College London to study geophysics. That was the good news. The astounding news came later - Claire was awarded a full scholarship which would cover her tuition fees for four years and stipend totaling $345,500 NZD. Claire remarked that this opportunity would turn her into a real Mana Wahine.
