Annual Giving

This week we launched our Annual Giving campaign: Because of You. We really enjoyed filming the campaign video and I think you’ll agree we have captured the Rangi spirit.

This is always a time to reflect and acknowledge that the school as it is today, is a testament to those who have gone and given before us. Our 2019 campaign celebrates some key initiatives supported by our Rangi whanau over the past 130 years.

This year we are seeking support for three core projects: the Mana Wahine fund; which supports student leadership opportunities, the Principal’s Koha fund; which allows me to support families in times of need, and the purchase of the Ramaeu Piano; a much-loved school instrument.

I’d like to thank you in advance for your support with this year’s Annual Giving: Because of You.

Dance

This week we have had our dancers at the Dance Made NZ competition. The girls represented Rangi Ruru with pride and are to be congratulated on their professional attitude combined with hard work. We were thrilled to see that every team and soloist received a placing in the competition. My thanks to our wonderful staff of Ms Kirsty Bell and Ms Hannah Clarkson for their time, expertise and encouragement which allows our girls to have this opportunity to not only perform but also to take responsibility for choreography. As you can see, they have had some wonderful success.

Our 1stXI is competing against St Margaret’s in the finals of the Canterbury Secondary School Premier Hockey Competition at 8pm tonight, at Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub.

The team has had an exceptional season and are looking to claim tonight’s title on their way to the Federation Cup in a couple of weeks’ time.

Put on your winter woollies and get down and support the team in what will be an exceptionally exciting match! The more blue and gold we can get down to Nga Puna Wai, the better!

Basketball - Senior A Final - Tuesday 27thAugust

Next Tuesday our Senior A Basketball team will be playing Christchurch Girls’ High School in the final. This is being held at Cowles Stadium at 5.45pm. Be great to cheer on the girls with blue and gold supporting them!

Please remember to compete your parent on-line Survey

We are committed to continuous improvement and would love to know what you think!

This week we will be running an online survey, which gives you the opportunity to have your say about what is working well and what needs to be improved in our school. The survey is completely anonymous, and it is hoped that you maximise this opportunity to give honest feedback and to share your ideas.

The survey is currently live and will close on Wednesday 28 August. You should have been sent an email with the link and specific instructions. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

To encourage participation, you will go into a draw to win a $250 reduction off your fees.

Sincere thanks in anticipation of you taking this opportunity to have your say!
