Sandra Hastie —

With exams now in full swing, our campus is certainly quieter than a few weeks ago, however, there is still so much going on here every day. It is a busy time for students and staff in the lead up to Prize Giving, and although the end of this challenging year is fast approaching, it is important for us all to remain focussed. For our students that means concentrating on goals set much earlier in the year, and finishing the year strongly and positively. For me this includes continuing the annual planning for 2021, ensuring key staff and student appointments are made, and working to ensure we celebrate all that 2020 has been.

As part of our annual planning, we are considering the feedback we were so grateful to receive from the parent and caregiver survey earlier this term. We are continuing to work through the data, and will be sharing the outcomes of this feedback in the next Intouch. Congratulations to Liz Sugrue - Mother of Lucy (Year 10) and Phoebe (Year 13) who is the lucky recipient of a $250 reduction in fees for completing the survey.

Celebration is important, especially after such an unprecedented year, and for Rangi this means our Prize Giving, taking place on Thursday 3 December (more information here). This year, we will be live streaming the Prize Giving to our wider community. Our current students are required to attend Prize Giving, and we sincerely hope you will also attend. If you do wish to attend but have not yet booked your tickets please do so as soon as possible as we are approaching capacity in the Town Hall. For those who cannot make the evening in person such as extended families or those out of town, the live stream will be a fantastic opportunity to witness our special evening. Further communication will be sent next week regarding how to access the live stream.

Other special (and compulsory) celebrations at the end of the year are our Clan and Family Carol Services, which we would love to see you all at. This is a special service and a great way to finish the year at Rangi, and more information can be found here.

Finally, we have included an article (click here) in this Intouch regarding the practical implications of the construction of the recently announced Sports and Multi-Purpose Centre. As the school will have a construction site onsite for the duration of 2021, we wanted to outline the minimal disruption to the school.

I look forward to seeing you all at Prize Giving.
