SCAPE Public Art Competition

Kate Rivers —

Year 7-13 students are invited to attend a workshop to develop sculptural concepts with Josie Whelan from SCAPE Public Art on Monday May 20th at lunchtime in the Art rooms.

Re:ACTIVATE Aspiring Artists 2019 invites young people to submit a design for a public artwork which responds to the theme 'Rock' and could be installed as part of the SCAPE Public Art Walkway.
Shortlisted submissions will be exhibited at Tūranga and two wining concepts from Year 1-8 students and two from Year 9-13 students will be made by engineers and installed on the corner of Cashel and High Streets in the Central City, near The Crossing.
This is an exciting opportunity for students to design a public artwork for our city. Hazel White and her team of senior Visual Arts students will be working on this competition with students at Extension Art on Fridays after school until the end of the month. All welcome!
