For Harvest Festival this year, we will be collecting non-perishables on MONDAY 18TH MAY - yes, our first day back! - to donate to the City Mission.

The English translation of Rangi Ruru is “Wide Sky Shelter.” This describes not only a place but also the people connected with it. We are a sheltering community, one where we work together to support and nurture each other, be it on campus or from our homes. 

As New Zealanders navigate these changing times, some of us will need more sheltering than others, and some of us will be capable of providing more support than others. In my mind’s eye, Rangi stands as a kauri with branches outstretched. Together, we have the capacity to extend our shelter and support into our wider community. One way we can do this is by providing food for those who are in need.

You may have seen on Seven Sharp that, over the past few weeks, the City Mission has been distributing in one day what it had previously done in a week.
