Summer camp opportunities
Applications for two
wonderful summer opportunities close on 4 September.The cost of each
programme is $575, and there are diversity scholarships available for both.
UC Science Summer Camp
During this camp (12 - 16 December), Year-12 students will get a real taste of university life and experience first-hand what it’s like to study science at UC.
Students will stay in UC accommodation, attend lectures, work in the labs, experience fieldwork, meet with staff and current students, and find out about the amazing research happening at UC.

WiE CAN Women in Engineering Residential Programme
This 5-day/4-night programme is open to female students,or those who identify as female, who arecompleting Year 12 in 2020 at an Aotearoa New Zealand high school. It features a range of interactive workshops, inspiring presentations and fun social activities. Students will be immersed in student life and experience the range of engineering subjects on offer at UC.
Applicants must be over the age of 16 years old by 17 January 2021 (the first day) and currently studying Maths and Physics. See video highlights from this year.

8 September - Careers in Heritage Event
UC’s Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities and the Christchurch City Council Heritage Team are collaborating on this event for senior high school students. Guest speakers will highlight varied careers in arts and heritage, with a particular focus on roles working with Māori and Pasifika collections and communities.(9:30am to 12:30pm – please note date change from previously announced 1 Sept date)
23 September - Choose Science Careers Evening
Students will learn about study options and hear inspiring UC graduates talk about how they’ve turned their passions into successful careers with a science degree.(6:30pm to 8:30pm)
29 September - 1 October & 6 - 8 October - UCMeXL Holiday Programme
Designed to effectively engage Pacific students with education, the programme helps increase the academic achievement of Pacific students sitting NCEA Levels 1, 2, and 3 to increase their likelihood of participating in tertiary education.
