From the Principal

Dr Sandra K Hastie —

Busy. This is definitely the word used when talking about Term 3 this year, and what a whirlwind of events and activities we’ve had. From the Performing Arts Showcase to Tournament Week, Grandparents’ and Generations’ Day to Clan events, this term has been action packed.

Finishing up the last week of term 3 we acknowledged Mental Health Awareness Week. Led by our Wellbeing Council and senior girls the theme of ‘Explore your way to wellbeing – Whāia te ara hauora, Whitiora’ included such activities as decorating your own cupcakes, seed planting and a scavenger hunt.

Leavers’ Communion

Each year we have a Leavers’ Service for our Year 13 Girls (and also any Year 12s who are leaving us) on their last day in our Church. As it is such a special time for them, we wish to extend an invitation to any parents who would like to attend this service and, for those this involved, you should have received a personal invitation. The service is an opportunity for our Leavers and parents to be invited to take part in Communion should you choose to as well as being part of the other farewells.

I would be delighted if you could join us on Friday 1 November at 11.30am in St Andrew's at Rangi Ruru Church on Merivale Lane.

Please arrive between 11.15am and 11.25am so that you can be seated before the girls arrive. The service will begin once the School is seated and will run for approximately 40 minutes. At the conclusion of the service the Year 13 students go home.

Please note, it is essential that you RSVP by clicking here>>

Rev Kirstie McDonald

You will be aware that our Chaplain, Rev Kirstie McDonald, has been on sabbatical during this term. While on sabbatical leave, she has decided to resign from her role as Chaplain and Teacher at Rangi Ruru. Next term Mrs Lea McEwan from Hope Presbyterian Church will be assisting us with our Monday Chapel, Leavers’ Communion and Carol Services supported by Rev Charissa Nicol who is relieving for us in Mathematics. We will be advertising for a Chaplain during next term and hope to have a replacement for the beginning of next year. We wish Rev McDonald all the best for her future.

I wish all our senior girls the best of luck as they work towards those final few weeks before NCEA begins. My wish for you is that you will achieve your personal best and finish the year strongly knowing that you have given it your top effort. With a two-week break coming up I urge you to use this time wisely so that you can enter the final week knowing that you are as prepared as you can be and that you have no regrets
