Welcome to Rangiora High School

Welcome to Rangiora High School.

Rangiora High School has a proud history of serving its community since 1884. We are a school that has always challenged the delivery of education in North Canterbury to ensure we are at the forefront of opportunities and outcomes for our students/ākonga. We are very aware of the nature of our community and have always strived to provide a balanced pathway for our ākonga including moving into higher education and agriculture through our onsite farm.

Our motto ‘Lux Cum Amore' is Latin for 'Enlightenment with Friendship.'

It is supported by our values of Wawatahia: Aspire to be the best we can be, Whakautea: Respect yourself and others, and Tohaina: Contribute actively to our community.

Our vision is to create inclusive, equitable and relevant learning opportunities for ākonga with clear pathways that meet the aspirations of our community and which empower every ākonga towards life-long learning.

Ākonga are at the centre of our work and like you, we want the very best for them. We want to see them engaged in learning, to have them experience success in all areas of learning and to discover that learning takes place not just in the four walls of the classroom.

We pride ourselves on the opportunities that we provide our ākonga, and the strong emphasis of positive ākonga centred relationships with our teachers.

We welcome you and look forward to working together to make your child’s secondary schooling experience the best it can be.
