Year 12-13 Tourism Trip

RHS —

Our Year 12-13 Tourism trip to Hanmer Springs on 23-24 September was an unforgettable experience that offered valuable insights into the tourism industry. We kicked off our adventure at the Hanmer Hotel, where we were warmly welcomed by the hotel's General Manager and the Events Manager of Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools. They shared their expertise on working in the tourism sector, discussing the unique challenges and rewards of managing a popular destination.

After the informative session, we had the exciting choice between spending two hours at the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools or enjoying a round of mini golf. Most of us opted for the thermal pools, where we took advantage of the exhilarating hydro slides and indulged in some delicious food at the onsite café. The combination of relaxation and fun was a perfect way to unwind and bond with our classmates.

The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the jet boating experience with Amuri Jet Adventures. Zooming across the river while taking in the stunning scenery was both thrilling and educational. The guides shared fascinating insights about the area’s natural beauty and the importance of sustainable tourism practices.

Overall, our trip to Hanmer Springs was not just about adventure; it was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the tourism industry and how different attractions work together to create memorable experiences for visitors. We returned with a greater appreciation for the field and many wonderful memories to cherish.
