South Island Secondary School Cycling Champs:

Our school cycling team recently competed in the SISS champs in Timaru achieving some outstanding results.

Quade McLachlan bought home a medal and trophy placing 1st in the time trial and 3rd in the Road race. Ellie Parry raced well just missing a medal with a 4th & 5th placing.

In the team race our U16 boys team placed 4th and our Open Boys’ team 11th.

After a full weekend of racing RHS finished 15th on team points out of more than 50 schools attending.

• Sam Mahan U15 - 17th Time trial and 17th Road race
  
• Jacob Turner U16 - 9th Time trial and 9th Road race
  
• Ethan McLachlan U16 - 16th Time trial and 19th Road race
  
• Ellie Parry U17 - 5th Time trial and 4th Road race
  
• Archie Martinovich U17 - 13th Time trial and 17th Road race
  
• Ben Spark U20 - 24th Time trial
  
• Louis Knight U20 - 27th Time trial
  

Blenheim Southern Road Cycling Tour

A small RHS team travelled to Blenheim to compete in the Southern Tour with Quade Mclachlan finishing 2nd overall in the U14 Boy’s race and winning the hill climb. Ethan Mclachlan finished in the middle for under 16 boys.
