Lifelong learners

RHS —

In May this year we had 25 staff complete the He Papa Tikanga Course though Te Wānanga O Aotearoa. This course involved the staff working through 4 kete (modules) over 1 year and meeting with their Kaitiaki (support tutor) at the end of each kete.

The 4 kete looked at

Module 1 Te Ao Māori (The World of Māori)

Module 2 Te Ao Mārama (The World of Understanding)

Module 3 Te Ao Hurihuri (The Contemporary World)

Module 4 Te Ao Whānui (The Wider World)

The aim is to improve the use of Te Reo Māori and have a better understanding of Te Ao Māori in order to be more culturally responsive and relational practitioners in the classroom. We have another 15 staff starting this course in August this year.
