A reminder that at the end of 2021 the Board of School Sport NZ decided that all School Sport NZ sanctioned events in Term 1 of 2022 (including the Term 1 holidays) will be restricted to fully vaccinated participants, aged 12 and over, only. They have said that they will review this decision after Summer Tournament Week 2022 taking into account the latest Government advice.

It was also agreed that only fully vaccinated spectators (over the age of 12) will be permitted to attend School Sport Canterbury sanctioned events and competitions.

To ensure that only vaccinated students attend sports events, they are asking schools to attest that they will only send vaccinated students to all School Sport Canterbury events. Coaches, managers and officials provided by the school will also need to be fully vaccinated (with booster if eligible) as per the Education mandate.

Please be aware that Sports competitions start as early as 14 February and participants will need to have their vaccine pass loaded on to their phone or available on paper.
