Community Health Consultations Findings

Kaylee Dawson —

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply to the Health Education community consultation survey. There were 51 responses. Here are some of the key findings:

The main message which came through about the aspects of the Health programme the respondents like was that it covers a wide range of relevant health topics.

Topics which were suggested that be included in the programme were practical skills around mindfulness, appropriate behaviour around social media and appropriate relationships.

The main topics the respondents recommend be taught in Sexuality Education were healthy relationships, responsibility, respect, consent and the issues addressing pornography.

61% of respondents think that some sort of Health education should be compulsory up to Year 13.

The Health and Physical Education Faculty will be reviewing the recommendations and looking at ways to improve the Health programme at Rangiora High School.

Thank you again for taking the time to complete the survey.
