Blazers for Volleyball & Tennis

Our Girls' Senior A Volleyball and Tennis teams received Blazers and Sports Ties for this season as they have both made the top Premier grade. Congratulations girls.

Cattle Handling

Cattle handlers from Rangiora High School took part in the exhibitor only competition at Rangiora showgrounds in late October. Congratulations to student Emily Pye, winning the Junior Herdsperson Intermediate class. Well done to all our Cattle Handlers that took part in the competition.

Gymsport

Late in October, seven of our students competed at the Secondary Schools' ICE Trampoline Competition. The Rangiora High School team came first overall.

The 4 highest scores came from the following students:

  • Emily Reeves
  • Aston Johnson
  • Millie McLaughlan
  • Erin Bruce

Emily Reeves was the Top Overall High School athlete. As an individual, Emily also came 1st DMT and 1st Trampoline in the Women's Elite (international) division.

McCord Cup & Hays Cup Awards

Recipient of the McCord Cup - Georgia Gold.  The McCord cup recognises the top "Colours" achiever in the school and the recipient this year received a generous $1000 from (former pupil) Lindsay McCord. Georgia received triple colours in Basketball, Netball and Touch along with one of only 20 selected into the New Zealand Secondary Schools' Netball squad training camp.

Recipient of the - Hays Cup - Jacob Turner. The Hays Cup (past deputy principal, Brian Hays) recognises the Sporting Achievement of the Year. Jacob was selected into the New Zealand World Championships Junior Mountain Bike Cross Country team and was the U19 Junior World Series Title Holder for May/June.

Well done Georgia & Jacob on your outstanding sporting achievements.
