Polo

The polo team have had another successful term with seven students attending regular training sessions at Waireka Polo Farm, including two students who played this term for the first time. Everyone has really improved their polo riding and stick skills, which has been great to see. Six of our students competed in the South Island SUPA interschools tournament on Sunday 24th November.

The Rangiora A team of Jayden White, Toby Orr, Rebecca Barnett and Amelia Hemmings competed in the D grade and did really well, winning all but one of their games, which they lost to the eventual winners of their grade, Christchurch Girls' High School.

Ben McDrury competed in the B grade for the first time, playing in the Christchurch Combined B team, and played very well, with his team finishing second in the division. Lucy Grigg competed in her last SUPA tournament, playing for the Christchurch Combined A team in the A grade match. She played really well and her team won the match, a great end to her school polo career.

It's been a great year for Rangiora High School polo and we are excited to see what Term 1 next year may bring!
