Lydiard House

RHS —

Wow, another term down!

This term has been extremely busy with a number of events, disruptions and trips for many of our students.

House choir competition took place on August 14th and many of our students put in weeks of practice before this. I would like to thank the executive team for running this and in particular Jack Chapman, Kayla Mortimer and Mrs Himiona. The Lydiard team was sensational on the day performing The Journey medley and Ka Pioioi taking out 2nd equal place overall. An amazing effort from everyone involved!

Senior Winterfest finally got underway in week 6 after having to be postponed due to Covid in Term 2. Mixed netball was the chosen sport and all matches were played in good spirit. We didn’t quite get the results we were looking for after a number of close games and finished 5= with Mansfield.

The Senior Public Speaking competition is happening in this final week of term. The juniors will have their turn next term. We also have the Senior and Junior quizzes during Term 4. The house competition will wrap up with Junior Summerfest which also got postponed due to Covid.

Term 3 is always a busy one for teaching and learning too. The school examinations have just finished and the seniors also are busy finishing off with their internal assessments for the year so they are really in the business end of the academic year now.

Ngā mihi,

Kaylee Dawson
