Mansfield House News

Term 4 has always been a time for celebration, success, reflection and all round craziness, and 2019 has been no exception.

Senior students have found success in exams preparation and execution. Junior students have either found success at completing their first year at high school or success at the end of their junior years at high school.

It is a great time of celebration at Rangiora High School, with our Prizegivings recognising excellence in sporting, cultural and academic areas. At our Mansfield House final assembly we also celebrate students who have shown engagement, effort and citizenship. These are all great qualities to have to become future global citizens.

The end of the year is always a great time for reflection. Staff do this by looking at how students have achieved in their subjects and in addition to this what has been the student’s level of enjoyment. We as staff are always looking at how we can create better more engaging courses. I would like at this time to thank all the staff of Mansfield House for all the incredibly hard work they do for our students each and every day. For students they can look back on the year reflecting on their highs and lows, what they did well and perhaps what they could do better next year.

This year we bid farewell to some of our form teachers; Ms Lubbe, Ms Bramley, Mrs Dowling and Mr Green they are all off on new and exciting journeys. Thank you to all of you for being the main point of contact for our junior students in 2018 and 2019, best of luck, we will miss you.

For our Year 13 cohort it is time to look back on their 13 years of schooling, with pride and a sense of achievement that they made it to the end of Year 13! It is such an exciting time for our Year 13 students as they embark on the next chapter in their lives. For some I know it is with a little trepidation that they are leaving the security of high school. But they should hold their heads high, each and every one of them has something to contribute to society, big or small. I wish them every success for the future.

I found this lovely quote on line so will end with that in sending you Christmas wishes, I look forward to seeing you all next year, thank you for all the support you have shown your student and the school this year.

A lovely thing about Christmas is that it’s compulsory, like a thunderstorm and we all go through it together. Let’s buckle up and dance in the rain.

Have a wonderful Christmas — Image by: pixabay.com
