Outdoor Education
In Week 11 the Year 13 Outdoor Education class had a three day trip in Lyttelton Harbour as part of their Sea Kayaking Unit. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and were able to explore lots of areas around the island including the shipwrecks. The trip involved students learning and improving their kayaking skills, water rescues and being able to have a sea kayak journey experience. This week the second Year 13 Outdoor Education class is going on their trip.
In Week 7 and 8 the Year 12 Outdoor Education classes had a two day trip to the Groynes in Christchurch. They spent one day focused on ABL and Low Rope activities and the second on the horizontal and vertical high ropes. The two days were filled with great teamwork, initiative, communication and good weather.
