Principal's Report

RHS —

Ngā mihi ki a koutou,

We hope you enjoy this newsletter. My thanks to the students and staff who have contributed. In a normal year this newsletter would have gone out at the end of Term 1 as a record of the term’s activities. A chance for us to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of individuals and groups of students.

This year, the announcement that we were to move into Alert Level 4 overtook us. In these uncertain times familiar routines and artefacts are important. So we thought it important that we sent out a newsletter, if somewhat late.

There is no doubt that the lockdown period has forced a dramatic change in the way we work. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Head Students for their innovative approach to leading the school. The ‘isolation games’, the Facebook ‘tips for online learning’ and the online school assemblies - particularly the ANZAC assembly - have provided a range of activities for us to come together as a school community.

Please encourage your child(ren) to send through to rbb@rangiorahigh.school.nz any ‘good news’ stories or photographs of what they have been doing during this lockdown period. We are keen to continue to not only share what is happening but also to contribute to our school records artefacts from this time.

Naku te rourou, nau te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi

With your basket and my basket the people will live
