Principal's News

Karen Stewart —

Tena Koutou Katoa We very much enjoyed welcoming you and your child to our open night in August. We hoped that you enjoyed this evening and we were able to answer many of your questions.

As we head into term four, you may find that  more questions arise or that there is new information that you need to share with us. The Rangiora High School website has a wealth of information about the school and I would encourage you to look through this with your child. The Rangiora High School Facebook page is worth following – it is not only a celebration of student success but also one of the avenues we use for advertising upcoming events.

As a school we believe in the importance of fostering home – school partnerships. This year John Parsons, an Internet Safety and Risk Assessment Consultant ran a workshop on ‘keeping your children safe online’ in term one. Term two saw Rangiora High School hosting the very successful North Canterbury Careers Expo. This term we are working in partnership with the Rangiora Youth Community Trust to host the ‘Behind the Screens Presentation’ for parents and whānau. Facilitated by an Attitude youth expert alongside the NZ Classification Office this presentation will cover topics including social media, gaming, pornography, screen time, mental and social development. For further information on this event please go to either Facebook or for tickets please click on this link.

Thank you  for sending through your child’s enrolment and subject selection forms. If there is further information that you think we need to know or if you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Rob Courtney (Head of Guidance) and Scott Wright (Deputy Principal) have oversight of this transition process and are available should you need to talk to them. Alternatively you can email them - Rob at crr@rangiorahigh.school.nz or Scott at wrs@rangiorahigh.school.nz
