Ngata House News

Kia ora parents, caregivers and Ngata whānau,

It is hard to believe that we are in the final three weeks of Term 4 and that Christmas and the beginning of a New Year will be soon upon us. As always, Term 4 has been extremely busy and we have had much to celebrate and be proud of in terms of Ngata House success.

Junior Public Speaking is one of the events that I personally really look forward to and this year’s contestants for Ngata, are of the highest caliber. Henry Witt 9NOCK and Lorelai Stallard 10NSRJ put themselves forward to represent the House. At the time of writing this Newsletter article, we are yet to undertake the competition, but I wish them well in the knowledge that they will strive to succeed.

Coupled with Junior Public Speaking, has been the highly sought after Junior Summerfest Competition, in which we placed fourth. Touch teams enjoyed a tremendous event and the commitment of our junior players was exceptional. Congratulations to all who participated.

It is important that I acknowledge and farewell our wonderful Year 13 Class of 2020, with whom both Mr Berg and I have enjoyed working. As discussed in our final assembly, five years has flown by and it does not seem that long ago that they were in Year 9. I have every confidence that this fine group of young people will go from here to live extraordinary lives, and as already discussed with them at their assembly, it is important for each and every one to remember that they are strong, articulate and are capable of achieving all that they hope. We wish them all well and have every faith that they never forget our mantra of ‘Never Give up Aspiring to Achieve,’ for it will serve them well.

Lastly, I would like to extend warm wishes to you, our extended Ngata whānau. I hope that Christmas and New Year is one of peace, prosperity and good health within your household. It is my great pleasure to work with and for you, and I look forward to continuing to do so in  2021 and beyond.
