The Senior A girls' Volleyball team gained selection to the NZ Secondary Schools' tournament after strong placings in both the Canterbury and South Island Champs. The NZSS tournament is held every year in Palmerston North and is in the top five of school sports' fixtures in terms of numbers of participants, with 160 teams from around the country. The Rangiora HS team was placed in the Premier Grade, which is the middle section (with 32 teams) of the girls' pool of 96 teams. After pool play they ended up playing off in Division 4 where they finally placed 5th after a good battle against St Oran's College from the Hutt Valley. That put us 53rd out of the 96 competing teams. All games we played and and those we watched were very close and the level of competition is high.

After playing nine matches the girls were pretty tuckered out but had enough energy to have fun after the finals on Friday at the Cloud Nine Trampoline Park and on Saturday we got to know Palmerston North doing Ms Malcolm's "Fairly Amazing Race" in the town centre.

Thanks to the Coaches, Chris Phillips and Kelby Hackler who put in the hard yards as well in the week-long campaign and in the trainings leading up to the tournament.
