Students displaying Lighthouse Values

RHS —

Rangiora High School has, since 1884, provided the families of North Canterbury with a quality co-educational secondary education. Our motto – 'Lux Cum Amore' or 'Enlightenment with Friendship' – supports our three Lighthouse values which are at the base of all we do: Aspire / Wawatahia – Aspire to achieve your best. Respect / Whakautea – Respect yourself, others and the environment. Contribute / Tohaina – Contribute actively to the community

In the past week the school was very proud to be notified of two of our students who when representing Rangiora High School made the school proud by displaying one of our Lighthouse values of Respect / Whakautea – Respect yourself, others and the environment.

Soren Bellamy was competing in the South Island MTB Champs at Mt Hutt and this post was on the Cycling New Zealand Schools' facebook page

"Sometimes at events we forget there  are all sorts of winners. This young rider from Rangiora High School thanked every marshal as he rode by in the cross country ... it made the marshals’ day.
The volunteer marshals said he was the reason they do these jobs!
Thank you is a powerful word!"

Also we were notified of another student,  Keegan Burnett who was competing at the  Singletracks event who also won a sportsmanship award and below is a post from their facebook page. Well done Keegan.

"A big thanks to Anton Cooper for coming along and presenting the prizes. He also had one of his signed Trek Factory Racing tops that was presented to a very happy Keegan Burnett. Each year there's at least one rider that stands out to the volunteers on registration, and on the course because they got into the spirit of the races, they were out there enjoying it, and they did it with a big smile. This year it was Keegan and he got his reward!"
