Kia ora Rutherford whanau. Term 3, as always, has been a very busy term. Below are some highlights from the term. I’ve included some comments from our amazing Student Executive team.
Can Drive
In August, we were really pleased to continue our support of the Salvation Army’s Rangiora Foodbank. This is such a worthy cause and seems to run like clockwork each year.
"We have had several exciting house events this term, one being the Rutherford Can Drive/non uniform day. This was a big success in bringing together RHS Students with the shared goal of supporting the Rangiora Salvation Army Food Bank." - Lydia Smith

Choir
The theme this year was “Tribute”. Houses had to decide on an artist to pay tribute to and present one of their songs. Our song for the event was “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John, while our Waiata was “He Honore”. In the end, we were placed fourth. Well done to Ngata House for winning the event, your performance was fantastic!

48 Hour FilmFest
At one stage we were worried about being “the team that defaulted” FilmFest. It was held at the end of a busy exam week and many of our students were, understandably, exhausted. Luckily, Lucy and Lilly stepped up and said “No worries Mr Sim, we’ll make it happen.” The theme was “A race against time” .

Thanks to Lilly Burbury, Lucy Gilsenan, Zoe Burbury, Rose Hussey, Brendon Lintott , Keira-Lee McLachlan; Louis eckardt, and Maya James for their hard work over the weekend. Results of this event will be out in Term 4.
Next term we have the annual Summerfest tournaments to go. At present we are tied for first place with Sheppard House, so it will be a tight race to the finish line this year.
In Term 4 we only have our seniors with us for 2 weeks, so it will be a busy time for them as they prepare for their annual NCEA exams. My advice leading into the holidays would be to look after yourselves and rest up as Term 4 will be extremely busy.
