What a busy term. Our students have stepped up as usual and made the best of every opportunity that was on offer for them to make their High school experience memorable.
With only three weeks left for our senior students, we appointed six students this term who will take the lead in supporting the House events. They are Rosie Hilton, Xavior Nortman, Coni Szwarc, Felicite Antoniuk-Newall, Kiarn Grant and Bea McNatty. These students are ready and up for the task. Congratulations to each student and we are proud to have you step into these positions.
Quick shout out to the Year 9’s who came third in the Kapa Haka competition that was held on the last day of term 2. They were marvellous and it was spectacular. They made sure that they were a force to be reckoned with. Well done team. This term was not an easy one. We started with our Matariki celebration in Week 1, then it was Showcase followed by the House choir, Filmfest with a week of tournaments and a week of the derived exam week. Lydiard students have participated in all of these events, trying to balance their academic, social and work life. I would like to thank the students who participated in the choir. Also, the students who were part of the Filmfest weekend. We could not have done it without you. A special thanks to our Leaders, Lucy and Hayden who took the lead to make sure students enjoy every moment.
The end is near, keep safe and be kind to yourself. Remember, take the long view and work towards it.
