Level 3 Geographers recently spent a day visiting beaches along Pegasus Bay as part of their research standard.
We were investigating changes from Amberley in the North to New Brighton in the South, and the processes which have caused these changes. Students designed their own methods of data collection, and even made some of their own equipment to investigate their chosen aim.
Despite the cold, we had a great day. I have been really impressed by the ingenuity of our students, thinking outside the square about how they would gather their data, and also that no one fell in the sea! A great fun day out, and some awesome learning.
Our final trip of the year will be to Queenstown, where we will investigate the impacts and issues of the Tourism Industry in preparation for their external examinations.
