Well done on making it through a busy term 3!

As we near the end of term 3, we have had exciting moments this term to reflect on, including Junior House Quiz where it was fantastic to see our team put in a great effort with some challenging questions. We have also had our seniors participate in Senior Winterfest where they played netball and again we saw a great effort from everyone involved both on and off court. After many rehearsals in Mrs Dowling’s Wānanga, we put on a great show for the House Choir competition where we came 1st equal with Rutherford. I am very proud of everyone who got up there and did their best!

We also wrapped up our 48 Hour FilmFest film a couple of weeks ago where a group of us were given a line, a teacher and an item we needed to include, then we had Friday after school to plan, then the weekend to film and edit our film. At the end, our film looked awesome, we will find out the results against the other houses in a few weeks! Good luck Sheppard!

Last but not least, we had our Sheppard Fair in week 9. It was great to see all the Wānanga classes get involved and help raise money for Ronald McDonald House. There was lots of competition between which Wānanga raised the most money, with 10SHLR coming out champions raising over $300 through sales of candyfloss. In total we raised over $1000, which we are really proud of… ka pai Ngāti Mako!

Still to come, we have the House Public Speaking competition where we look forward to seeing Kahn Charles, Alyssa Grigor, John Lundy and Keva Woolford share their speeches for Sheppard… we wish them all the best!

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who put their hand up to participate in all the house events, it’s not always an easy thing to do. You guys are awesome!
